CTO (hands-on)

Role Description

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to pioneer our technological vision from the ground up. This role is centered on building and managing an open-source community, and developing innovative products that align with our principles. The CTO will have the unique opportunity to shape the foundation of our technological infrastructure and influence the future direction of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture an open-source community

  • Oversee the development and deployment of all software and technology systems.

  • Design and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the organization's open-source philosophy.

  • Establish policies and practices that promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with other executive team members to define and execute the organization's strategic plan.

We are looking for someone who has

  • Proven experience building systems from scratch and a successful technology leadership track record.

  • A deep passion for open-source, decentralization, and meritocracy.

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver products in a methodical and phased approach.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and scale an engineering team effectively.

What is a plus

  • Familiarity with Web3 technologies and the nuances of different blockchains, though a specific platform has not yet been chosen.

  • Experience with Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

  • Strong understanding of both traditional web technologies (Web2) and Web3 technologies.
